"The Prairie Barn" |
"The Prairie Barn" stands like a sentinel,
tall and proud. Hargrove has endowed this old barn with a timeless
dignity. The simple stark image is very reflective of the artist's
early period and it led to early comparisons to Edward Hopper
and Andrew Wyeth. "The Prairie Barn" was released in 1978 as
a 20 x 24, Open Edition Serigraph on canvas and each was hand
enhanced by the artist. Due to the popularity, two additional
sizes were introduced: 8 x 10 and 12 x 16. |
| "Champaign Train Station" is one of the
most popular in a series of paintings Hargrove did on the American
train. The locomotive steams with anticipation as the last bags
are being loaded. You can almost hear the conductor yelling
"All Aboard!!" "Champaign Train Station" was released in 1980
as an 8 x 10, 12 x 16 and 20 x 24, Open Edition, Serigraph on
canvas which were hand enhanced by the artist. |

24, Limited Edition of 750, signed and numbered. This serigraph

"Letters to Santa" |
"Letters to Santa" is a perfect example
of Hargrove's amazing attention to detail. Everywhere you look,
small wonders appear: the father and daughter peeking into the
toy store, the small boy mailing his letter to Santa, the dollhouse,
the rocking horse, the children playing in the store. An image
that you could easily see pictured on the cover of the "Saturday
Evening Post." "Letters to Santa" was released in 1993 as a
20 x 24 Limited edition of 1250, signed and numbered. This Serigraph
on canvas was hand enhanced by the artist. |
| In 1996, H. Hargrove was honored to create a
commemorative painting for the Atlanta Olympics. "From Athens
to Atlanta" was released as a 20 x 24 Limited Edition of
1,000 signed and numbered, mixed media on canvas. This was the
first time Hargrove combined lithography with silk-screening
to create a mixed media. |

"With a Song in My Heart" |
"With a Song in My Heart" is Hargrove's
moving tribute to his father on his father's 90th birthday.
It is through his intense passion for still life that we get
to see the artist reach a new height in his career. "With a
Song in My Heart" was released in 1997 as a 20 x 24 Limited
Edition of 900, signed and numbered. This mixed media, lithograph
with silk screening, is on canvas. |
"The Test of Time" was released in 1997,
and is very reminiscent of Hargrove's early works. This simple
black and white pencil sketch is rich in details and full of
character. It elegantly displays the 'test of time.' Released
